About Us
Our team are predominantly in-house, led by Pat and Jimmy so all work can be carefully monitored. We pride ourselves on being reliable and efficient with the experience and knowledge of the generations to ensure we produce work to the highest standard. In addition to this our style and flair coupled with Pat’s knowledge of antique and ethnic textiles and historical styles have greatly added to what we can offer. We believe in fitting everything ourselves supervised by Jimmy, to ensure high standards are maintained.
Family History
The family business has its roots in the early decades of the 20th century, when Herbert Giddens moved to Lincoln and established an upholstery and soft furnishings business. He was later joined by his son Reginald, who in-turn was joined by his own son Maurice. Throughout his 50 years in business, Maurice Giddens built up a highly respected reputation as an interior designer, with an impressive clientele. In her own business Pat has maintained her father’s reputation, producing high quality, contemporary soft furnishings. Pat, along with her husband Jimmy, are the fourth generation to enter the family business. Having learnt her trade in the workshop of her father Maurice Giddens then Pat graduated with a degree in textiles from Leeds University, she established her own business in 1993 after a period working in fashion and then antique textiles and it has flourished ever since with projects in London, nationwide and worldwide.
